Franklin does festivals up right and this weekend one of the most treasured festivals is underway. The Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County is pulling out all stops for the annual Pumpkinfest on Main Street and its avenues in historic Downtown Franklin!
It’s a celebration of fall and is filled with festive fun for the entire family. There’s a Kids’ Zone with pony rides, face painting games and even a dedicated preschool area.
You’ll find costume contests for humans and pets. Of course there’s tons of live entertainment. I mean it is Franklin. More than 80 arts and crafts vendors line Main Street along with Street Festival Food (not a good day to be dieting) plus the Franklin Chili Cookoff takes place on Third Avenue North and it’s some mighty fine chili.
The Great Pumpkin will be on display. Guess its weight and win a fabulous prize!
It’s a rather perfect photo op, too.
This festival represents all things special about Franklin, TN and is attended by visitors from neighboring counties and states.
Pumpkinfest is happening on October 24 from 10am – 6pm. If you love fall like I do, then plan to spend part of your day in Downtown Franklin.
If festivals aren’t you’re thing, now is the perfect time to head to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens to take in all the fall beauty that lives here. There’s a Mum explosion…Scarecrow exhibit and you can pick pumpkins. There’s always great family fun at Cheekwood.
As October winds down, I can’t encourage you enough to take in all that Middle Tennessee offers. Indulge your senses and head out with your family and friends. Truthfully, you just don’t want to miss any of it.
Aren’t you glad you live in a place where there are Octobers?
What’s your favorite fall activity. Leave a comment and share your special experiences with me.
Let’s hang out here too!
