Barns in Franklin, Tennessee

I LOVE barns! What is it about a barn that captures our attention?

I drive past this barn every week and I look forward to it when I round the corner.

Growing up in Los Angeles, there weren’t a lot of barns, but I’ve always loved them.

Barns make me fantasize about jumping in piles of hay…

Horses keeping cool…

Swinging on rope from the rafters to the hay loft on the other side…

I want to know what’s inside this one…

Baby farm animals being born…and resting with their Mama’s…

Lambs taking a break from the heat…

Chicken coops with fresh eggs…

And, of course, cows being milked.

Pretty near perfect…

I’ve never lived on a farm, but I think I should have. And I don’t live on farm now, but I have friends who do…so maybe one day…

I will get to swing from a rope and land in a pile of scratchy hay!

There are barns aplenty in Franklin…

Some are majestic – like splendid houses and if you’re a horse that gets to live there…lucky you!

Others are quite dilapidated, but still serve their purpose…

And others are just good old fashioned barns!

This is still my favorite. I think it’s the flag!

I have an affinity for red barns…how about you? What comes to mind when you see a barn?

P.S.

I also get this excited when I see shiny new trucks cruising down the highway!
