Are You Embracing 2020 and All the Excitement?

Aside from the fact that I'm having a difficult time determining what day it is, (I feel like all the days just flow into each other. Am I alone in this?), I'm extremely excited about 2020. There's something about a new decade that wakes me up and makes me more determined to get stuff done. I do not find my life slowing down at all. In fact, it's more alive and busier now than I ever imagined.

I've lived in Franklin for 6 1/2 years now. In that time, Discovering Franklin took off faster than I ever could have imagined. Because of this little blog, I met amazing humans - many who have become dear friends. I learned a lot about Franklin. I shared my ups and downs - highs and lows - my personal experiences - my successes and also my failures. Y'all know me well.

Then suddenly Franklin Flannels showed up in our lives and it started taking over my life, because it, too, was growing rapidly, but also because I knew NOTHING about running a clothing business.

Nor did I know about the wholesale industry or selling online. What a journey Franklin Flannels has been. This new decade has me very excited to see where we go and how we grow. I'm learning to embrace uncertainty.

Sadly, I couldn't spend the time I needed to on Discovering Franklin and vintage flannels at the same time, so I made the tough decision to put the blog to bed for a bit. Then, I found Erin to take it over and get it going again, but after several months of giving it her all, she went to work full time and again...the blog was put on hold. For all the interruptions, I apologize, but you know what...sometimes life sends you on your not so planned journey.

You might be wondering why I hung on to Discovering Franklin? There are so many reasons. First, I believe in it. Period. Second - this blog saved my life after I moved so far away from Los Angeles and everything I knew at the time to be true. Third - I met my friends here. Fourth - so many people are moving to Franklin and I believe that having a place to go and read someone's honest perspective is helpful. And finally...these stories have a piece of my heart and I can't let it go. Franklin changed my life and me in so many ways and I guess I'm not finished sharing that with you.

So what does that mean? I'm going to do my level best to to get it going again. I'm also looking for someone to assist me. Know anyone? If so, please leave me a comment. Also...what do you want to know? What stories do you want to read? What questions do you have?

These are just a couple of reasons why I'm excited for 2020. I also have a new puppy. We lost our sweet Sassy in the fall of 2019 and I couldn't stand my life without a we now have Bailey - a ginormous Cavapoo who has stolen our hearts.

This year...I'm really focusing on ALL the blessings in my life - keep my perspective - grow as a business owner - and listen more.

What does 2020 have you excited about? Tell me below.
