Happy Halloween! I’m sad to say good-bye to October. It’s been an event-packed month and I have to say, this former California resident has come to relish October beauty.
Franklin does Halloween in big way, but we pretty much do that with every holiday. I’m learning that small towns are like that. If you feel like venturing to Downtown Franklin, the houses are decorated and they put on quite a show. It’s a great time to stroll along the avenues and West Main Street and take in the festivities.
Arrington Vineyards still has Music in the Vines and if you haven’t enjoyed a little wine tasting…mellow music and a picnic, head out to Arrington for one of Franklin’s favorite weekend activities.
Saturday music from 5 -9pm and Sunday from 2 – 6pm. The view is spectacular and you bring your own food or purchase it there.
Do you have all the spices you need for your Thanksgiving dinner? My friend Holly at Savory Spice Shop in Downtown Franklin will help you select a unique blends to season your turkey and side dishes. She’s a real treat and Savory Spice Shop is a favorite.
The beginning of November is also a great time to begin your Christmas shopping. Get an early start so that you don’t feel rushed and this year…let’s support our local businesses. Really…let’s do that.
