Happy Saturday Sweet Friends! As I write this, it looks like we’re going to have a PERFECT fall weekend. After the rain and cold of last week, foliage should begin its transformation and what a transformation it is! With weather in the low 70’s, I say it’s time to get outside and spend your time Discovering Franklin!
Tonight is the 3×3 Art Show in Leiper’s Fork. If you missed the information about this lovely event that happens twice a year here are the details. I’m going and hope to see you there.
Historic Downtown Franklin is all aglow and dressed up for fall, so why not take a stroll down Main Street and find a special treasure. I love burning candles in fall and The Iron Gate is busting at the seams with heavenly scents. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
My new favorite is Archipelago Black Forest, Special Reserve. It’s beautiful.
For me there’s nothing better than spending your day in Leiper’s Fork and taking in the local scene, plus the art galleries are filled with new collections, because last night was the 3×3 Art Show featuring new artists and artisans.
It’s a perfect time to go…slow down…and take in the beauty.
In fact, why not start your day with breakfast at the famous Loveless Cafe – best biscuits around!
Hop on the Natchez Trace…stop at the Bridge and take in breathtaking views and then head south until you see the exit for Leiper’s Fork. This time of year, the drive is spectacular.
If you love the BEST Yard Sale in the South, then you won’t want to miss the Leiper’s Fork Yard Sale. It’s really something to behold. And here’s what’s best about it. All proceeds go to support “Friends of the Fork” and are allocated to people in this community as needed. What does this mean? “Friends” help pay utility bills, purchase groceries and buy presents for children at Christmas. Not to mention…you can find some real treasures here.
The Yard Sale takes place in the large field at the end of Southall Road. Be sure to check it out.
I’ll be cleaning out my tomato garden. It continues to produce Sweet 100’s, but it really is time for me to get in the dirt and prepare for fall planting.
Next weekend it’s City Farmhouse Pop-up Fair and the Leiper’s Fork Chili Cook-off!
It’s fun times in October in Franklin, Tennessee.
