Springtime in Franklin is a big deal! There’s so much to do that it almost makes my head spin!
Festivals, fairs, gardening, hiking, new restaurants, the Nashville Film Festival, and music – always music! It’s a lot of wonderful is what it is. When I first arrived in Franklin almost two years ago (that’s hard to believe) I tried to do everything and I got a little overwhelmed, so now I’m selective because so much of life here is about slowing down and enjoying the beauty of spending time in the serene surroundings. Franklin is especially beautiful in the spring.
This coming weekend…there are two HUGE events happening and if you plan accordingly, you can probably make both of them.
Country Living Fair is coming to the Nashville area and there’s a whole lot of buzz about how amazing this is going to be! As you know I had a pair of tickets to give for the event and the winner is Amber Jordan! I wish I could have given a ticket to each of you. I loved your stories and I hope y’all will still go.
I’ve been reading Country Living Magazine for a very long time and I dreamed about going to the fair, but never really imagined I’d get to…well, all that changes this Friday because I’m going! You can get all the details by visiting the website. It begins Friday, April 24 – Sunday, April 26 and doors open at 10am. The Fair is actually in Lebanon at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center just outside of Nashville. So grab a friend…wear some comfortable shoes…bring a BIG shopping bag and I’ll see you there.
Franklin Main Street Festival is also happening this weekend beginning on Saturday, April 25 – Sunday, April 26. You’ll find over 200 artisans and crafters…three stages…two carnivals and a food court. Bring the family and plan to spend the day. This year…little Downtown Franklin is expecting a whole lot of visitors so get there early and be patient about parking. We’re just a small town with a lot of appeal.
Saturday night, April 25 from 6-9pm is the twice yearly 3 x 3 – Three shows…three galleries and one wonderful evening of art and music. If you haven’t been to 3 x 3 in Leiper’s Fork…it’s a real treat. David Arms Gallery, The Copper Fox and Leiper’s Creek Gallery pull out all stops. This is one of my absolute favorite events.
You might also plan to spend an afternoon at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens because things are really blooming right now or if you’re seeking something more mellow how about Music in the Vines at Arrington Vineyards.
Weather permitting…you might want to soar above Franklin in hot-air balloon – a view from afar.
Shhhh…don’t tell anyone!
