It’s not every morning that I head out in Franklin to tackle a fear and have a great adventure, but that’s exactly what I did when I went to SOAR Adventure Tower. I’m not a girl who likes heights – in fact…I’m downright terrified, but SOAR Adventure is new and it’s the only one of its kind in North America…so I had to see it and experience it for myself and the thought of soaring above Franklin was pretty intriguing.
If you’re looking for a BIG adventure close to home – this is for you. If you’re interested in some corporate team building – Soar is your go-to place. If, like me, you want to overcome a fear or up the ante in your life – that’s right…get on over to Soar. Or if you just want to view Franklin from a new perspective – they’ve got you covered on this big time!
In true Music City fashion, SOAR has added musical elements because that’s how we do it here!
You don’t have to be a seasoned climber. There’s something here for everyone including small children on the ground level and in case you’re wondering…you’re strapped into the finest harness on the market. There’s plenty of instruction for before you take to the different levels.
The SOAR Adventure Tower is a safe ( I emphasize safe) and interactive atmosphere that features 3 levels of difficulty and over 110 climbing elements that will challenge children and adults both mentally and physically. As you go higher – your experience becomes way more intense. At Level 3 you’re 45 feet above the ground so just walking across the bridge in your safety harness poses a mental challenge. Personally, I found this experience one of my greatest mental challenges EVER because I was doing battle with my fear.
You will not be alone in this experience. SOAR has trained guides at every level to help you maneuver your way through the experiences. The staff is outstanding and each person wants you to succeed. I did NOT want to walk across the wobbly bridge, but Kevin, made sure that I knew my harness and the cables could be trusted. Whew! Sometimes it’s better to see things for yourself.
Before you go to SOAR Adventure there are a few things you should know.
You will sign a waiver before climbing. They recommend that you complete the waiver online to save you a lot of time.
No open-toed shoes are allowed (for obvious reasons).
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement.
Remove all jewelry because you’re using cables and jewelry gets in the way. Leave all jewelry at home.
Your hair must be tied back.
This was an experience the likes of which I’ve never had. I was scared and at the same time excited! I was nervous and yet, I felt safe. I LOVE having the opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zone. If you have an adventurous spirit and want to challenge yourself or give your children an exciting thrill – by all means…make SOAR Adventure Tower part of your fall activities.
It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience and I love the idea that it’s the only one in North America and it’s right here in Franklin, Tennessee. How cool is that?
I love connecting with you. I hang out here too!
