I’ve always wanted to live where there was some weather, but seriously...I was NOT prepared for ICE STORMS! What on Earth is an ice storm? Well…it’s nasty icy rain that doesn’t turn into snow and it wreaks havoc on everything! Two days ago it was almost 80 degrees here in Franklin, Tennessee and today…ICE STORMS! It’s a nasty thing for sure, but I’m staying inside. Whatever stuff I need to do away from home can wait! I’m not sure my Prius wants to play on black ice and I know for a fact, that I don’t want to. Poor Sassy is NOT happy about the wetness and she’s taken to cuddling underneath a blanket on the sofa. Ahhh…life is most definitely different.
But here’s the good news…for this Christmas girl, there is a lot of Christmas happening around Middle Tennessee. Downtown Franklin is getting ready for Dickens Christmas and I can’t wait to share that with you. (You have to wait a week.) But here’s a little peek at it in advance.
It’s going to be a fun weekend, for sure.
As for us…our new home is decked out for Christmas. Here’s a peek at what’s going on inside. My apologies for not giving you the full view, but it was next to impossible to get the right shot…and since I’m trying to let go of this “perfection thing”, I’m just sharing a bit of what’s around the house. I’m happy to say that all my decorations found a new home. Of course, I’ve added a few, but mostly…what’s inside has not changed.
It’s shiny and bright and I even found pearl garland to add a touch of sparkle.
And here it comes…get ready…my masterpiece!
Not one broken ornament in the move across the United States. I guess my compulsion to wrap each one individually paid off.
Now I need to work on finding the peace in my heart…being okay with all the changes…trusting in the process and knowing that Michael Buble will one day stop singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” I’m trying so hard to embrace the tears and the emotions that keep surfacing for me. Stay tuned…I’m growing…one baby step at a time.
As always…leave your comments and if you have any tips for getting through this Christmas with grace, I’d love to hear from you.

WOW! What nice decor. Pleasant to look at and it all comes to life.
Cindy, you have outdone yourself with beautiful Christmas decor. And I love the red and yellow which is exact the color of my living room, as well.
If you want another new experience to add to you Franklin blog, we are giving a dinner (turkey, dressing and all the trimmings) Wed at 5PM for the “under the Bridge” folks in Nashville at our church with our Wed. prayer service afterward. Email me back if you are interested. Last year the church fed over 400. This year I think it’s 500. It will ” take away the blues” for sure!!
Always love your posts.
