One of the best parts about living here is that Franklin does the 4th of July RIGHT! Like Let’s Celebrate America Right!
Our patriotic town! It’s like a Norman Rockwell painting coming to life only you get to be a part of it. There’s something so special about celebrating the 4th with my new Franklin community.
Maybe your neighborhood has a local parade where you decorate bikes and strollers and dogs and wear red, white and blue! If so…be sure you do that, but once that ends, head to Downtown for Franklin on the 4th, hosted each year by the Lion’s Club.
Family fun for everyone and it’s FREE! You’ll find loads of great music, classic American food from roasted corn to corn dogs and ice cream. It is the 4th of July after all. There’s also a large kids zone.
But I don’t have any little ones so my favorite is the antique car show! These cars are works of art!
And guess who else is going to be here? The Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile!!!!! Oh my gosh…does this bring back memories. I loved this Weiner Mobile as a kid! Did you love it too? I remember getting my picture taken with Little Oscar and it hung in my bedroom for like…forever!
The Festival kicks off at 10am with foot-tapping bluegrass playing from the stage.
There’s a parade for children at 5pm, but they start lining up at 4:45. Registration is FREE so check at the Lion’s Club booth for details.
The Downtown festivities end at 8pm to give you time to get over to the Park at Harlinsdale Farm for fireworks beginning at 9pm.
Have you ever been to Leiper’s Fork on the 4th? There’s a whole lot of Americana happening there too. You can never go wrong with a trip to The Fork.
If you’re thinking about heading into Nashville for the amazing Concert (Sheryl Crow is headlining this year) and over-the-top Fireworks display – I can’t help you. I would recommend that you get there early and make a day of it.
I’m married to a Yankee Doodle Dandy and we plan to ease into Monday – then head to Downtown for the festival…then home for a cookout with new friends and then head out to see the fireworks. It sounds pretty perfect really.

My guy…
Happy 4th of July Y’all!

This will be a great celebration this year! We will be exploring downtown Franklin for the fourth too, I’m sure we will spot you and your Yankee Doodle Dandy! Celebrating small town Americana style!
CIndy,
I have tried looking back in your posts to see who you recommended for the treatment of Brown Patch.
Can you give me that info again? Our newly sodded yard has these awful patches and we need help.
Thanks,
