Change is good. It’s not easy…but it’s usually good and today I have some great changes I want to share with you! The blog has grown up and it’s gone through some fantastic changes and what’s been added just makes me so happy!
Have you been to the Home Page lately because I think it’s pretty great and it’s all because of Lesley. Oh don’t you just LOVE it when you meet someone who just gets you and gets what you’re trying to accomplish and then tells you things will be finished by such-and-such a date and it actually happens!?!
Well…that’s Lesley and in addition to helping people improve their websites…she also has her own blog, Chaotically Creative that she writes with her Mom, which I highly recommend you check out. Not to mention she’s also a Mom and has a full-time career…
Yep…she’s kind of a Super Hero and I’m feeling very blessed that she entered my life!
Anyway…here’s what’s new…I’ve added a calendar (home page, right-hand side) and this is where you can check out what’s happening in Franklin. I do my best to keep up with all of it, but if I miss something…feel free to send me an email and let me know. And if you know anyone who has something going on, please let me know. The only requirement is that it can’t be an invitation only event.
All the most recent posts now reside just under the categories in the carousel – easy to get caught up.
And then I’ve changed the categories for easier searching. Under each main category, you’ll find a drop down menu that will make your searching so much easier. I’ve added several new categories, because as it turns out Discovering Franklin is also about discovering new ways of doing things and sharing my kitchen and projects with you. I’m not too swift in the DIY category, but I’m learning how to do some simple projects and I’m finding it all to be very relaxing – not the frustrating mess I was anticipating.
Plus there’s a landing page for my coaching with Lionhearted Women until I get a new site up for that. But it’s easy to reach me just by clicking on the gorgeous lion in the sidebar!
Discovering Franklin is growing up and I want to thank you for allowing me into your life…taking the time to read what I share…and leaving comments. Your comments and emails mean the world to me and I think my heart does a little twirly dance when I read them.
It’s the weekend round-up and here are some things that are happening in Franklin this weekend that should be a lot of fun! Check the calendar also for upcoming events!
Friday, November 7 – Franklin Art Crawl – Bundle up and go to Downtown Franklin for this monthly event. Y’all know I love Bagbey House and this Friday and Saturday Kris Bagbey is the featured artist and he’s celebrating the annual Christmas Open House. I stopped by the other day and the store looks magnificent. It’s an old-fashioned Christmas theme this year and there’s magic in every inch of this shop.
Franklin Art Crawl is a delightful way to spend your Friday evening…and an even better way to support our merchants and honor our local artists. Come…I think you’ll love it!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday – Steel Magnolias is playing at The Factory. I went last Sunday and I was so enthralled with the acting, the set and the beautiful presentation Studo Tenn is sharing with us. This is the quintessential Southern classic story and it’s absolutely wonderful and a perfect way to spend an evening or afternoon. You’ll laugh…you’ll cry…and you’ll walk away with warmth in your heart. Get tickets here.
Thursday, November 13 – Check out A Guitar and a Pen – Old Time Radio Hour with Robert Hicks. The Civil War comes to Franklin. This event is hosted by renowned author Robert Hicks, (Widow of the South), and will be a fascinating look at The Battle of Franklin history. Tickets are going fast so call today! For more information go here.
As we head into Thanksgiving and Christmas, I hope we can focus on the blessings of our lives…keep it local if possible and not buy into the holiday madness. For me…this is what matters the most.
I want to know you…so leave me a comment so my heart can do that little twirly dance!
