Two years ago I went to my very first City Farmhouse Pop-up Show and was totally overwhelmed!
I’m not even sure how I heard about it, but I put it on my calendar before ever leaving Los Angeles. I didn’t even know what Pop-up Show was! And what do you do at one? This was running through my head also.
I look back now and admit I was very lost, because we had only lived in Franklin for a couple of months. I knew nothing! What I did know was that I wanted to see this show – this show with vendors from all over country…who drive through the night and set up in heat and rain, all to share with you and me…the beauty of their finds. What I didn’t understand is today…everything old is new again – even petticoats! And ballet shoes…
I left that show with my head spinning and a lovely white lamp from J Hill Designs that would take up residence on my night stand. I found a treasure for sure. (She is always at a City Farmhouse Pop-up Fair with the most creative booth.)
I waited with huge anticipation for the next show at The Buddy Killen Estate and in true Kim and David Leggett style…they NEVER EVER disappoint…so imagine my delight when Kim tells me she’s having another show in June and then another on in November!
This past weekend in Leiper’s Fork, the Pop-up Fair took place. It was, I’m sure, 450 degrees on Friday, but I didn’t care. Heavy rains were expected, but I didn’t care. It didn’t rain on anyone’s parade. It was hot…but who cares when you’re surrounded with amazing vendors…cool, and I mean very cool things that delight the eye, plus you run into your friends around every turn.
There was a whole lot of red, white and blue mixed in in with white, lavender and green.
See…everything old is new again.
I love the vignettes these vendors create. They have eye that is so keen and they see beauty in things many of us would see as trash. They design in way that I’m just learning and I’m bowled over by their talent.
My camera was happy…take a peek…
I really…really wanted this chair for my office! “Yes…the Queen will see you now!” I didn’t get it. I have hundreds of pictures and I’ll be sharing them with you on Facebook. If we’re not connected there…come on over and join the party.
I’m beginning to understand this more and more and maybe…it’s always been there but I didn’t know it until Franklin.
