I spent New Year’s Day taking down and putting away all my Christmas decorations. It’s not the most romantic way to begin the New Year, but it’s what I do in between catching glimpses of the Rose Bowl game.
I go all out decorating my house for Christmas and when I finally get it all boxed and put away…my house looks empty and I can’t remember where things used to live!
How about you? Does your house look empty when the decorations go back in their box?
If you answered yes or you think that NOW would be a good time to do a little interior updating…I want you to meet Paige Williams. Paige is a native of Nashville and a graduate of O’More College of Design. She’s also vibrant and has a great eye for design, and she’ll see your home in a whole new light! I’m so impressed with her skills that I invited her to be a sponsor of Discovering Franklin.
What I particularly love about Paige is that she’s REAL! I have problems with interior designers who make me feel inferior or tell me that I have to get rid of everything in my home and start over! Who can actually do that?
Paige’s work is personal and intimate. “My designs are a collaboration with my clients. Each client is unique and every home has stories and pieces of furniture that are part of the story. I listen first and then – together – we figure out what to do.”
Nice philosophy, I think.
Paige’s Tips for a Room Makeover
First and foremost – Once your holiday decorations come down, live with the room. Sit in it. Feel it. What’s it missing? Right now is the perfect time to call for a consultation, which Paige is offering Free to Discovering Franklin readers, and get some input from a set of creative eyes.
Tackle one room at a time. This allows you and Paige to focus on creating the “perfect space” for you and your family. Each space serves a different purpose and when you take your time, magic happens.
Use existing pieces and incorporate new ones to elevate and update your room.
Paint can make a huge difference. What colors make you feel comfortable? You don’t have to go along with what design magazines say…this is your home and it’s all about creating a space filled with pieces and colors that make you happy.
Ever thought about painting a piece of furniture to give it a whole new look? A little paint on a tired piece of furniture can change an entire look.
If you have authentic antique pieces…don’t paint them. They lose their value. I did not know this.
Custom made throw pillows can change the entire look of a room especially when you bring in some cool accent colors. Or maybe consider having seasonal throw pillows so you never grow tired of one look.
This year…why not take a step toward really loving your home. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, because Paige will come for a consult at no cost to you. Now that’s awesome service.
She’s licensed and bonded and all sub-contractors are, too.
Paige will be a featured designer at the O’More Alumnae Show House which opens on April 29 – May 15, 2016. She’s doing the entryway and the stairwell.
To reach Paige, click on the Home Page of Discovering Franklin or give her a call at 615.210.1002 or email her here.
Isn’t it time your home got a little New Year makeover, too?
Let me know what you decide to do.
Happy New Year to you Sweet Friends! Here’s to a fabulous Year!
