I love Christmas…the festivities…the lights shimmering in the night…the shoppers bustling about…children’s eyes filled with wonder…the smell of pine against the cold…starry nights…fires…toasting marshmallows…sitting around the tree and listening to Christmas music…dressing gifts that look like jewels…and I love Christmas in Franklin, Tennessee!
There’s something about Downtown Franklin at Christmas that is just magical! Dickens Christmas…the town sing at the lighting of the Christmas tree in the town square…families bundled up sharing and creating memories. It’s special here.
And there’s so much to do that you really have to pick and choose what delights you the most.
This year….the Downtown Franklin Association is adding more festivities to the Main Street celebrations by hosting the first-ever Franklin Merry Olde Christmas Celebration on Monday night, November 24th.
The celebration (presented by Franklin Synergy Bank) kicks off at 3pm at The Franklin Theatre where you’ll enjoy an abbreviated show coordinated by Studio Tenn’s Managing Director, Jake Speck and a musical act compliments of The Cains Trio. Mayor Ken Moore will be kicking off this event. The show is free and open to the public, but if you’re planning on attending, you need to reserve a seat and you can do that by calling 615.591.8500 ext. 18.
As the sun sets (around 4:30pm) as darkness sets in you’ll experience the Main Street light reveal while decorated storefronts glisten. It sounds like a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting. (Have you noticed I’ve got a thing for Norman Rockwell?)
Many businesses are planning to stay open late for extended shopping.
Doesn’t this sound like a perfect way to start your week? Bundle up the family because you know it might be a bit chilly and enjoy as much of our special Downtown Franklin this holiday season as you possibly can…because you know…
You can never get too much magic!
I’ll be bringing some of my favorites to you so keep an eye out for all that’s happening and be sure to check the calendar on the Home Page.
Until next time…xoxo
