Last year in October I barely knew what I was doing or where I was going in Franklin, Tennessee. I couldn’t find anything in my house and although I had hung pictures on the wall just to make me feel better…I couldn’t find a thing!
But I knew this…
I was going to the City Farmhouse Pop-up Barn Show! We didn’t have Pop-up Shows in Los Angeles, so this was going to be a totally new adventure for me. And it was everything and more than I could have imagined! Here I was at this gorgeous farm and there were vendors from all over the United States with the most delightful finds in individual booths.
This was the 1st Ever City Farmhouse Pop-up Show hosted by Kim and David Leggett – masters of their craft.
In just 6 short weeks – in the middle of fall – City Farmhouse Pop-up Show is happening again, only this time it’s not at a farm.. It’s at the abandoned garden & mansion of music publisher, Buddy Killen in Leiper’s Fork, and Kim plans to take the 2nd show to a whole new level. As she said to me, “I like grand events! The grander the better,” and this promises to be grand!
You can find out all the specifics by going to City Farmhouse. There’s been a lot of press about this…so I thought I’d share some thoughts about why you should change your plans.. buy a plane ticket…plan a road trip and get to City Farmhouse Pop-up Show!
Kim Leggett knows how to throw an awesome event and anything she does…well…you just want to be there!
You get to walk the grounds of the Buddy Killen gardens & mansion. Now it’s possible you might not be familiar with Buddy Killen. He was a very famous music producer and this was his home. The estate welcomed and entertained country music royalty like Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner and George Jones, just to name a few.
Over 150 of the top vendors from around the USA will be featuring their treasures.
Did I mention amazing shopping!
The best heirloom pumpkins will be available for purchase. (The ones I bought last year lasted all the way to Christmas!)
One-of-a-kind finds will be yours for the taking! (You know that corner that has been waiting for the perfect piece? You’ll find it here.)
Live Music and great food are a side bonus! It wouldn’t be an event without some down home Southern cooking and music to keep you moving.
Matthew Mead is a featured guest and you can have lunch with him! (Matthew’s credentials are quite notable. He’s a stylist, writer, author of 12 books…only 12…lifestyle editor and noted style expert.) Matthew’s appearance alone is a reason to attend. Read all about him here.
Nina Hartmann – as in Vintage by Nina, is an international superstar in the vintage world and she’s flying in from Sweden for the Pop-up Show! And once again…you can have lunch with Nina and get a signed copy of her new book, A Winter’s Tale. Learn more about Nina by going here.
There’s more…Special guests will be on hand all weekend and they’re all very approachable. Read about them here.
Experience the first-ever “Folk & Folly” exhibit inside Buddy Killen’s estate. Seven of the homes abandoned rooms will be set up in Gothic-type installations by a select group of artists, photographers and designers. Oh…this is going to be so cool!
There are so many reasons to make it to this event. Just being outside in the glorious October weather and spending one or two days getting lost in the magic that Kim and David Leggett have created is about as good as it gets.
Come…get on a plane…take the train…rent an RV…go on a road trip…but whatever you do…don’t miss City Farmhouse Pop-up Show!
Friday, October 17 thru Saturday, October 18 beginning at 9:00am. You can purchase an early buying weekend pass…a day pass or weekend pass. You can also lunch with Nina Hartmann and Matthew Mead on Saturday at noon. Space is very limited.
